Specialising in musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, spinal and sports rehabilitation

Alexia qualified with a Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy in Malta in 2002, and trained in various Public Health departments including musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, oncology, amputees, neurology and cardio-respiratory. She obtained her Master's degree in Advanced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy from the Manchester Metropolitan University in 2006. She then worked in a big rehabilitation centre in Malta where she dealt with an extensive clinical case-load of musculoskeletal conditions, post-operative orthopaedic cases, sports injuries, neurological rehabilitation, cardio-respiratory conditions (including intensive care), spinal injuries / conditions, palliative care, and amputees.

In the UK, Alexia worked as rehabilitation manager at Honda UK, followed by work in private central London physiotherapy and Sports rehabilitation clinics, particularly in Harley Street where she worked for 7 years. With 16 years of work experience, predominantly in the musculoskeletal field, and a great deal of ongoing continued professional development, she has a special interest in the shoulder, knee, and spine, as well as Clinical Pilates. Her clinical practice involves manual therapy (including soft tissue and joint mobilisation and osteopathic manipulative techniques), exercise prescription, strength and conditioning, Pilates, dry needling and electro-acupuncture, and TECAR therapy.

Alexia also has a keen interest in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, in which she has a Diploma. In her spare time she loves travelling, HIIT training, swimming, Pilates, quality time with family and friends, performing arts, motor-boating, and reading.
