 Chris McLean, Physiotherapist, MCSP SRP MAPA

Director of Marylebone Physiotherapy and Sports MedicineChris founded Marylebone Physiotherapy and Sports Medicine nine years ago. His aim to build a centre of excellence in the heart of London has seen him invest years of expertise, experience and dedication into a clinic that believes in providing the highest standard of healthcare. After graduating from Sydney University with a degree in Physiotherapy he was headhunted from Australia to head up a Physiotherapy department in Devonshire Street before founding his company Health Consultants. Chris has since done a Masters in Sports Medicine from UWIC, writing a thesis on the concept of Core Stability. He now lectures on the Sports Medicine masters degree at Queen Mary's University. Chris has a wealth of experience in musculoskeletal disorders and sports injuries. He has special interests in osteoporosis, back pain and is well practiced in dealing with complex spinal cases. He has an interest in human performance conditioning and has worked with elite athletes on development and rehabilitation. Chris has worked with several celebs (he won't tell who) and is vastly popular with all his patients, he continues to innovate and push the boundaries of rehabilitation, as well as the record for hours worked in one day!

                  Simon is an Australian physiotherapist who graduated from LaTrobe University with a Bachelor Physiotherapy in 1998, he recently completed his Masters of Sports Physiotherapy in Australia, and has achieved the sought after title of APA Sports Physiotherapist. Simon is very pro active in his approach to physiotherapy and sports medicine, he has a strong belief in a hands on approach with specific rehabilitation programmes to return athletes and alike to their chosen activities. He uses a combination of manual techniques, neural mobilisation and manipulation often in conjunction with acupuncture and dry needling. Simon used to compete as a 400m runner and was a keen Aussie Rules footy player, he now enjoys competing in various road cycling events, most recently completing a leg of the Tour de France. With his background he has a special interest and experience in track and field, cycling and football. He has worked with various international athletes including tennis players, footballers and champion jockeys. He has also worked with the Australian Tae Kwon Do team and Australian track and field team.Simon's special interests are in knee and spinal rehabilitation with a real emphasis on preventative medicine.

She has lived and worked as a Physio in Sydney, Australia for the past three years. People often think she's Australian when they meet her! A keen netballer, tennis player and skier herself, Amy has plenty of experience in treating sports injuries and has worked with Wasps RFC youth teams and also at the London Marathon treating runners. She has experience with spinal rehabilitation and has an appetite for learning - she's always studying and booking herself onto lots of new training courses! When asked what she enjoys most about her job Amy says it's always the people she meets and her aim in life is to make sure she's having fun!

 Sebastian Cormier, MCSP SRPMSc (Physiotherapy) BSc (Sports and Exercise Medicine)Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)                        Sebastian is a highly motivated and passionate physiotherapist and certified strength and conditioning specialist. He graduated with a Bsc (Hon) in exercise science/sports medicine from Elon University in the USA and completed his postgraduate Msc in Physiotherapy at King's College, London. Further interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy led him to complete a postgraduate certificate in orthopedic manual therapy from Curtin University, Australia.  He is currently working on his manual therapy specialisation (MACP) at the University of Hertfordshire. Sebastian has accumulated a wealth of experience nationally and internationally. After some time working in the NHS, he joined a multidisciplinary sports and spinal physiotherapy team in New Zealand where he gained valuable experience working closely with the current Junior Allblacks Rugby physiotherapist and the Wellington Phoenix A-league team. In 2008, he was chosen to represent New Zealand as the team's physiotherapist for the Youth Commonwealth Games in India and the Futsal Oceania World Cup Qualifying tournament in Fiji. His treatment success is based on a combination of hands-on manual therapy and gentle osteopathic techniques. He complements his treatments with acupuncture/dry needling and individualised strength and conditioning programmes to restore dynamic pain-free movement.   His special interest lies in the treatment of running injuries, shoulder pain, SIJ/Pelvic dysfunctions and persistent and recurrent pain conditions. Sebastian, was born in the the Alps of Southern Germany. He loves the outdoors and particulary enjoys mountainbiking, snowboarding, surfing and marathon/trail running. He speaks English, German, French and Spanish.

 Vuko Tomasevic, MCSP SRP MAPAMSc (Physiotherapy) BSc (Sports and Exercise Medicine)                                           Vuko is a Physiotherapist from Sydney, Australia.  He has acquired extensive tertiary qualifications having completed both a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science and a Masters of Physiotherapy at the University of Sydney.  Vuko is an ex-professional footballer and has played throughout Australia for over a decade.  He is extremely passionate about treatment, management and the prevention of injuries. Vuko has treated and performed musculoskeletal rehabilitation and screenings for a number of top football teams as well as elite athletes in Australia. Vuko has applied his knowledge and skills in a renowned private practice in Sydney over a number of years. He uses a variety of treatment techniques and believes in developing customised rehabilitation programs for his patients. These treatment and rehabilitation techniques focus on flexibility, balance and strengthening, all of which are aimed at getting his patients back to feeling their strongest and greatest! Being a professional sportsman for many years, Vuko has endured quite a few injuries himself and has seen many more. He strongly believes that physiotherapy is vital for both preventing injuries and for achieving the best possible body function.

bryonie team photoBryonie Roberts, Physiotherapist, MCSP SRPMSc (Physiotherapy) BSc (Sports Rehabilitation)                               Bryonie has a strong background in exercise based rehabilitation and previously completed a Sports Rehabilitation degree in 2005.  Having studied this in Twickenham she could not escape the rugby bug!  She worked with several local clubs at adult level and the youth team at London Irish before settling with Hammersmith & Fulham where she is now in her second season. Bryonie graduated from the University of East Anglia in February 2009 with her degree in Physiotherapy at a masters level.  Since then she has worked as a clinical Pilates instructor in southwest London and has gained expertise in movement pattern recognition & correction techniques.  She believes Pilates is a vital tool in returning patients to full fitness and can play an integral role in injury prevention. Bryonie's proudest moment to date:  Helping 20 mad netballers break the world record for the longest ever netball match - 60 hours!  Although it did take a while to want to massage another pair of legs again!

Katia team photoKatia McLean, Clinic Director and Movement Therapist                          Katia has a wealth of experience in movement therapy, working within a clinical environment and with clients for health and fitness. Gleaning skills from the multiple disciplines she has studied she creates programs that target the individual for the moment and future. She is certified in Pilates, rehabilitation Pilates, GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS®. Katia has studied yoga for years (Ashtanga, Hatha, Iyengar, Anusara), Body Rolling and other sporting disciplines including fencing. A keen martial artist Katia studied Pencak Silat in Indonesia for 6 years. Katia is certified in mat and equipment, in Stott and Polestar. She has experience in rehabilitation, injury, special population, allegro, Pilates for dancers, women's health, pre and post partum, advanced spine and osteoporosis. She has trained in Pilates in Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia and the UK. Her GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® training has been in the UK, Germany and Austria. She is a Level 1 Certified Instructor in both disciplines. When asked who she'd most like to meet: ‘I'd like to meet a few pioneers and ask them if they would have changed their philosophies given the 21st century world we live in and the advances and knowledge now learnt: Marie Curie, Maria Montessori and Joseph Pilates.’ Katia is a mother of 5 children and continues her personal interests in movement and energy on a daily basis. She is currently continuing her professional development in clinical Pilates, GYROTONIC®, and has recently started trapeze training and the Shaw Method of swimming as well as continuing her love of yoga. Katia would love to study Energy Medicine and it is Energy work within movement that is her area of interest. Katia says of her work ‘My work gives people the ability to improve their own lives; it is a job that empowers others’

Ashleigh RobinsonAshleigh Robinson, Pilates Instructor and Massage Therapist                        Ashleigh is both a certified Pilates instructor and a qualified Sports Massage therapist. Ash grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa and studied a two year sports massage diploma course. She worked as a massage therapist at a Chiropractic centre in Johannesburg massaging no end of damaged bodies. Whilst on a skiing holiday Ash fell and badly hurt her back, she was recommended to try Pilates and it was on seeing the amazing benefits of Pilates in her own rehabilitation that Ash fell in love with the practice of Pilates and wanted to bring it to others. She went on to study a comprehensive Pilates course with Body Arts Science International and worked in a BASI studio under Ashley Richie. After coming to a decision to expand her horizons Ash moved to London in February 2009 and met the Marylebone Physio team. Specialising in lower backs Ash says that it is helping others to feel better about their bodies that she loves most about her job.

Fiona Brown, Pilates Instructor

Originally from the United Kingdom, Fiona studied with renowned ballet teacher Roger Tully and went on to train at the Rambert School of ballet and contemporary dance. After graduating in 2008 with a Ba Hons in Ballet and Contemporary Dance, she relocated to New York for a scholarship at the Merce Cunningham Studio.

Fiona has been involved with several Merce Cunningham repertory revivials and has worked as a professional dancer with numerous choreographers and companies in NYC including Armitage Gone!, Dance, Ballet Noir, Gleich Dances Contemporary Ballet and Ian Spencer Bell Dance. As a dancer, pilates has been an integral part of her lifestyle from maintaining peak physical form to controlling injuries. Fiona studied at Alan Herdman studios and with Kio Tomiyama whilst in London. She went on to train as a teacher with renowned American pilates teacher Ellie Herman at her studio in New York. She enjoys finding new ways to help her clients with their own body awareness and using imagery and flow for athlectic pilates combinations. Ryan Clifford, Yoga Instructor

Ryan Yoga instructorRyan’s background is in acting, movement and dance, he’s practiced yoga for 11 years, and Ashtanga yoga for 8 years. He did his yoga training in Los Angeles with Erich Schiffman and his Ashtanga teachers include Sri K Pattabhi Kois from Mysore, India and Hamish Hendry in London. He has also studied in the Iyengar tradition which informs his hatha yoga teaching. Ryan believes in keeping yoga enjoyable, light and fun whilst recognizing its power to transform your life. A doting Dad himself, Ryan is a certified ‘YogaBugs’ kids yoga teacher and can teach children at private classes or children’s parties. He also teaches corporate yoga classes in the city. Originating from a Law and Sociology background from Exeter University, Steph gravitated towards the health industry after graduation . Gaining
experience as a personal trainer and fitness instructor she researched
different schools of massage and finally enrolled with The Northern Institute of Massage, based in Bury Greater Manchester.

Following her graduation as a Remedial Massage therapist in 2007, Steph built a wealth of knowledge and experience working with a wide variety of clients from professional athletes and fitness fanatics to commuters and new mums. Over the years her love of helping people through massage has led her to qualify in Manual Lymphatic Drainage and Myofascial Release Techniques as well as Pregnancy Massage and becoming a Baby Massage Instructor.

Steph holds membership with both the National Association of Massage and Manipulative Therapists (NAMMT) and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CHNC).Steph is also a keen keen gym goer and marathon runner, having competed in no less than five marathons to date.

Dr Jag AcharyaDr Jag Acharya                                                       Jag heads The General Practice at Health Consultants and is a fully qualified GP specializing in Women's Health and Dermatology. Dr Jag believes in providing high quality healthcare with an emphasis on patient well-being and disease prevention. Her philosophy is to formulate active management plans involving the patient in every step of their care. She has experience with acute medical problems and chronic disease management through both conventional and complimentary therapies. Jag says she would most like to meet Mahatma Gandhi. Born of Indian descent with an English upbringing she says most people don't know she was actually born in Zambia! Her favourite part of her job is the huge variation of pathology she sees. 

Dr Priti Nayar MBBS, MRCGP, DCh, DFFP

Claire GillvrayDr Claire Gillvray MBChB, MRCPsych, MRCGP, DCh   Dr Claire Gillvray and Dr Priti Nayar lead The Pulse Clinic based at Health Consultants, they have many years experience in general practice, and provide extensive medical services specifically tailored to their client's needs. Both Claire and Priti are general practitioners who work both within the NHS and private sectors. Dr Gillvray is trained as a Psychiatrist and also has an interest in Sports Medicine. Dr Nayar has a special interest in women's health and sexual health. Enabling patients to get back to health as soon as possible, both Dr Gillvary and Dr Nayar provide individuals with professional and confidential care.

Raymond Dixon headshotRaymondDixonPsychologist                         Raymond is a highly experienced counsellor in the field of Addictions, Depression and Motivational problems.  He specialises in Addictions and Alcohol problems for clients and their families, working both in a hospital setting at a major Londo hospital and also in Private Practice.  He worked in California at the Sober Living Treatment Centre, on the Adult Unit and the Adolescent Unit which focussed on treating younger people, in particular with Crystal Meth, Cocaine and Sex addictions.  He has a particular interset in Cannabis/Skunk users, and has also dealt extensively with Eating Disorders, Problem Gamblers and General mental health disorders such as depression and anxiety.  Raymond is a practising lecturer and presenter, he's given lectures to Mental Health professionals and doctors on Addiction and pathological gambling both here and in the USA. Raymond uses an integrative therapeutic approach, combining CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and MET  (Motivational Enhancement Therapy).  Raymond is registered with most major private health insurance companies.

Christene Burgess, Psychosynthesis & Mindfulness Therapist

Christene is trained in Psychosynthesis Counselling and Therapy and has been a member of the BACP since 1990.  She is a specialist in Mindfulness in Individual Therapy and Coaching, and presents courses in Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction.  Christene is experienced in private practice and working with clients from leadingEAP (Employee Assistance Programmes) and as independent provider-manager of a counselling and personal development service for a Faculty of Health & Social Care.  Her background in the corporate sector and an employer who assigned a room for meditation in their workplace has inspired Christene in practise of meditation and in holistic healthcare, enabling people to regenerate well-being, spirituality, and creativity at work, at home, in managing change and ageing.  Christene hopes that mindfulness approaches are something we can all discover and achieve in our lives.

A native Londoner Holly studied Human Sciences at Kings College until last year. Holly wanted to combine a love of working with people with her passion for healthcare.  A keen streetdancer she performs with the group Goodfoot, and she loves to sing and act aswell, recently working at the Tricycle Theatre in Kilburn.  Holly would love to travel and live abroad one day.
